Kosha

Engineering & capital projects

Document control for projects that pour concrete.

Kosha brings transmittals, deliverable registers, review codes and vendor exchange into one system — with the governance an owner demands and the speed a project team needs.

One data model

Register, transmittal, review, response — connected.

When a vendor returns a drawing with Code 2, the review comment, the register status and the next transmittal are all the same record. Nobody updates a spreadsheet at 9 pm.

Transmittals that close the loop

Business+

Numbered transmittals with purpose codes (IFR, IFA, IFC, As-built), automatically generated cover sheets, distribution matrices you define once, recipient acknowledgements and formal responses. Recall a transmittal sent in error — with a reason on record.

MDR & VDR registers

Business+

Plan every deliverable before it exists, forecast dates, and track progress with S-curves. Vendor document registers sit next to the master register in the same data model — no re-keying between systems.

Review codes that feed the register

Business+

Code 1–4 / A–D responses on returned documents — Approved, Approved with comments, Revise and resubmit, Rejected, For information — update the register automatically. Codes and labels are configurable.

Vendor & client portal

Enterprise

Vendors, subcontractors and clients submit and receive documents through a restricted portal. External collaborators are free within generous limits — so your supply chain actually uses it.

Compound documents

Business+

Reference, supersede and attach documents; build compound (virtual) documents such as a datasheet package with its calculations and vendor drawings.

Collated renditions

Business+

Merge the main document, inputs from other departments and supporting files into one bookmarked PDF — ready for issue, review or handover.

Comment resolution sheets

Business+

Every mark-up comment tracked to closure with responses, then exported as a CRS. The AI comment assistant groups duplicates and drafts responses (Enterprise).

Drawing viewing & mark-up

Business+

View DXF/SVG drawings and large images with pan, zoom and measure. Mark up in the browser with clouds, stamps and text — no desktop CAD licence needed for reviewers.

And the details that matter

Built by people who have chased a transmittal.

Holds
Raise numbered holds on a document (“HOLD 3: awaiting vendor data”) with the responsible department, affected activity and expected release date — each tracked until released.
Equipment tag numbers
Link documents to plant tags such as P-101A and browse everything that mentions a tag — the start of your handover package.
Controlled revisions
Revision requests authorised by designated departments; the next revision letter or number is assigned automatically.
Cross-department inputs
Ask Process, Civil or Electrical for inputs before approval — as files or text, each tracked as a task.
Version compare
Side-by-side text redline and visual overlay of drawings between versions, plus an AI summary of what changed.
Read & understood
Require acknowledgement of issued documents — for site procedures, safety notices and method statements.

AI for engineers

Less checking. More engineering.

AI auto-classification & extraction

Business+

Reads uploaded files and suggests class, title, document number and revision.

AI review assistant

Enterprise

Checks a document against the stage checklist and drafts review comments for the reviewer to accept or discard.

AI change summary

Business+

Explains what changed between Rev B and Rev C in plain language — before anyone opens the overlay.

AI comment resolution

Enterprise

Groups duplicate comments from multiple reviewers and drafts responses for the CRS.

Workflow intelligence

Enterprise

Predicts delays, suggests assignees by workload and flags bottlenecks across the register.

Ask the library

Enterprise

Ask “what is the design pressure of P-101A?” and get the answer with the datasheet page.

FAQ

Engineering questions

Does Kosha replace our CAD work-in-progress tool?
No. Kosha is the controlled-document system of record: numbering, review, approval, issue, transmittals and registers. Designers keep authoring in their CAD tools; reviewers view and mark up in the browser. Kosha does not manage CAD reference (xref) relationships.
Can we use our own numbering scheme?
Yes. Numbers are generated from patterns per standard title — project, discipline, document type, sequence — with segments reserved for manual entry. Transmittal and revision-request numbers have their own patterns.
Can we migrate from our current EDMS or CDE?
Yes. The EPC Document Control implementation package includes numbering schemes, registers, transmittals, review cycles, vendor portal set-up and migration of up to 5 TB from legacy EDMS, CDE or SharePoint, with metadata mapping.
Do vendors need a paid licence?
No. External collaborators are free up to 2× your full users on Business and 5× on Enterprise, and unlimited on Sovereign.
